Harlington is a historic village with written references dating back to the 9th century. It has developed greatly over the years particularly since the arrival of LHR but still contains several buildings of note such as the Church of St Peter and St Paul plus the Baptist church and even a listed road sign. In the current version of the expansion plans it’s likely Harlington will lose some small areas to Heathrow development and will be significantly affected by the new runway whereby flights arriving from over London or departing in an easterly direction will now pass directly over Harlington and at a very low altitude which is not something that has happened before.
