Longford village sits defiantly at the western end of the north runway at LHR and credit is due to the residents that choose to live in a location where the aircraft movements and associated noise are so great that you don’t even hear them after a while. The village as with the others contains listed buildings and has quite some history. Longford is likely to be completely obliterated by the proposed development at LHR, its current footprint being totally swallowed up inside the new area.
